  6.      Thank  you for using M A X'S BBS!  This program is the result of three
  7.      year's worth of programming.  It was developed due to the lack of true
  8.      Amiga  BBS  programs  ie.  not  ported  from the IBM.   M A X's BBS is
  9.      Copyright  ©  1992  by  Anthony  Barrett.   This program is now Public
  10.      Domain and may be freely distributed.

  12.      M A X's BBS can be completely customized!   Not only can you make your
  13.      own menus but you can edit and change all the  BBS  text  and  colours
  14.      using the built in text editor.   You could even translate the English
  15.      text into another language.   You can insert the time, date or any one
  16.      of  the forty seven auto inserts anywhere in your text!   You can hide
  17.      all or parts of any text to users by  specifying  the  minimum  access
  18.      level. M A X's BBS can also run most Paragon compatible door programs
  19.      along with those door programs that have been written just for M A X's
  20.      BBS.

  22.      M  A  X's  BBS is a true ANSI BBS,  ie.  all the ANSI colour codes are
  23.      supported and any interruptions to the printing/sending of menus  (hot
  24.      keys)  and  text files will force an ANSI colour code (line 36) before
  25.      the text is printed/sent.  When the BBS sends a message such as "Press
  26.      <RETURN>  to  continue"  (line  29) or  warnings like "You have x mins
  27.      remaining..." (line 23) while printing a text file, the foreground and
  28.      background  colour  will  be  saved and restored before and after that
  29.      message.   This will stop any colour changes in text due to  that  BBS
  30.      message.

  32.      M  A  X's  BBS  is  one  single  executable  file.   No messy separate
  33.      configuration or FidoNet programs to worry about,  it is all done with
  34.      the  one program!   A powerful online user editor lets the local Sysop
  35.      edit any part of the current online user,  including the user's name! 
  36.      A  message  optimizer will remove all unused space in the message base
  37.      files, this will save you precious disk space!

  39.      M A X's BBS supports the following file transfer protocols:

  48.      All protocols have been written as close to specification as possible.
  49.      The ZModem protocol is the latest revision available at  the  time  of
  50.      this release.

  52.      M A X's BBS has been written in Assembler.  Not only does this make it
  53.      run faster but also makes the program  size  very  small  (about  240K
  54.      bytes).

  56.      M A X's BBS has a built in FidoNet front  end,  message  importer  (or
  57.      tosser) and FidoNet dialer.  M A X's BBS can be easily configured as a
  58.      FidoNet Hub because of it's easy to use  "FidoNet  mail  distribution"
  59.      window.   Before M A X's BBS,  BBS programs relied on separate FidoNet
  60.      front end programs and message tosser programs to  set  up  a  FidoNet
  61.      system, making them slow and difficult to configure.
